Assurant also offers lenient underwriting, high deductible health plans, condition specific deductibles, and exclusion riders to help get you covered.
Also available is an optional 36-month rate guarantee, so your premium is locked in for three full years and a decreasing deductible, so if you don't meet your deductible for a full six months, your deductible decreases by 10% every six months until it is nearly cut in half.

In order to participate in a health savings account and receive tax benefits for healthcare expenses, having a high deductible health plan is required.
High deductible health plans are plans with minimum deductibles of $1,150 for a single insured and $2,300 for family coverage. These are the minimum deductible amounts for 2009.
